Honor, in collaboration with Google, has announced the Android 16 Beta for the Honor Magic 7 Pro. With this, Honor has joined Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, and other companies that have also started the Android 16 beta on select devices.
Android 16 Beta for Honor Magic 7 Pro
The Android 16 Beta for the Magic 7 Pro is based on Android 16 Beta 3, which was released for Pixel devices. Currently, Beta 4 is the latest build for Pixel devices.
This move from Honor allows Honor Magic 7 Pro users to test Android 16 early, especially developers who want to test their work for the upcoming Android 16 OS. Even if youโre not a developer, you can still install the beta. However, itโs worth noting that this beta doesnโt bring major changes or upgrade MagicOS.
Fortunately, the Android 16 beta installation process is easy, which means anyone can install it without erasing existing data. However, this is the first Android 16 beta for the Honor Magic 7 Pro, so you may encounter some minor as well as major bugs.
To install the Android 16 Beta 3 on your Honor Magic 7 Pro, you first need to download the Package from the link below. Also, make sure your phone is running PTP-N49 9.0.0.161(SP1C431E5R4P1) or higher.
How to Install Android 16 Beta on Honor Magic 7 Pro
- Once you have the official file, go to Settings > About phone and tap 7 times on Build Number to enable developer options.
- Now navigate to Settings > System & updates > Developer options. Here, enable USB Debugging.
- On your PC, you will need adb driver, python, and Honor Suite. Connect your Honor Magic 7 Pro to your PC using a USB cable.
- Extract the adb platform tools folder on your PC. Copy the download package inside the folder.
- Then unzip the main package, and then Software/dsu_pkg_and_tool. Zip. Now, run the “python dsu_tool_for_win.py” script to install the package.
- Wait for the installation process. You can track the progress in the notification panel. Once the package is installed, restart your phone.
Thatโs it! You now have Android 16 beta 3 running on your Honor Magic 7 Pro. Youโll find some changes and a few new features, but since it doesnโt come with a MagicOS upgrade, donโt consider it the final Android 16 for Honor devices. Itโs intended for testing purposes only.
You can easily roll back to the official Android 15 version from the option that will appear in the notification panel.
