GCam on the Honor 200 Pro: We Tested It – See the Results!

You might very well know about the HONOR 200 Pro device. It’s camera camera-focused smartphone that brings a 50-megapixel primary lens, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens on the rear. It gets a dual front camera with a 50-megapixel primary lens and a 2-megapixel depth lens.

The stock camera does amazing work, and the Harcourt Portrait is one of the standout features of the device. We all have that little tech nerd inside us who just wants to try the legendary Google Camera (GCam) on our phones – and Iโ€™m no exception.

But since thereโ€™s barely any info online about getting GCam working on theย HONOR 200 Pro, I figured Iโ€™d step in and help out once again. Below, youโ€™ll find the download link for the best GCam port available for this device.

How to Download and Install Gcam on HONOR 200 Pro

Step 1: Download the APK from the given link.

Step 2: Install the APK.

Step 3: Open the app and give all the required permissions. That’s it. You can now experiment with the GCam on your device.

Does GCam outperform the stock camera on the Honor 200 Pro?

So after installing the GCam on my HONOR 200 Pro, I did a few experiments and comparisons with the stock camera. After clicking a lot of photos, I can say that it’s a very tough competition between the two.

The stock camera usually gets the colors better, and AI features such as AI Zoom also help maintain overall image quality.

GCam, on the other hand, maintains the neutral color. It does not boost the color and is usually on the cooler side. The details are not a lot better on the Gcam, but it’s more “natural” since there’s no AI zoom as such. The one GCam we have provided for the device also has advanced controls such as ISO control and exposure control.

These images have made it clear which camera does better and in which category. However, avoid using the GCam for selfies and videos as the results are sub-par. It gives a hazy effect in the selfie camera, and this is consistent across all the Google camera modules we have tested.

Regarding the video recording, the color comes out too dull, and the stabilization isn’t as good. So it’s always a better option to use the stock camera for both of these purposes.

So, if you want a camera for everyday use, a stock camera might be a good option. But if you want to play with the advanced camera controls and want close to neutral colors, GCam will serve you well.
