Android 16 Developer Preview released for Xiaomi 15 and 14T Pro

The Android 16 Beta is now available to many non-Pixel devices. Xiaomi has also announced the Android 16 Developer Preview program for the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro.

This is an initial beta build meant for testing and development. Since it may contain both minor as well as major bugs, itโ€™s not suitable for regular use. If youโ€™re a developer or have a secondary device, you can install the Android 16 beta or preview without worrying about bugs.

The Android 16 Developer Preview for the Xiaomi 15 is available with version OS2.0.109.0.VOCMIXM, while the beta for the Xiaomi 14T Pro is available with version OS2.0.103.0.VNNMIXM.

As thereโ€™s no upgrade to custom UI, HyperOS, you shouldnโ€™t expect many changes. If you own one of these models and want to test the Android 16 beta, you can follow the installation process mentioned below. But first, letโ€™s cover important points.

  • The installation of Android 16 Beta will erase all data
  • Make sure your Xiaomi 15 running OS2.0.109.0.VOCMIXM or higher and Xiaomi 14T Pro running OS2.0.103.0.VNNMIXM or higher

You can install the Android 16 Beta in two ways: directly from Settings or through Fastboot mode. However, the Fastboot method requires unlocking the bootloader, so itโ€™s generally recommended to use the easier method.

  1. Download the Android 16 Beta build for Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro.
  2. Copy the downloaded package to your phone.
  3. Go to Settings > About phone > Click “OS version” 10 times to enable developer mode.
  4. Now navigate to Settings > About phone > Click on the system icon > Click the “three dots” icon at the top-right corner > Select “Choose update package” and locate the file.
  5. It will extract and install the Android 16 beta to your device.
  6. Restart your device and enjoy the Android 16 beta.

Along with these two flagship phones, the Android 16 Beta 2 is also available for Redmi K70 Ultra.
