Google releases Android 16 Beta 4 for Pixel Devices

Google has just released the fourth beta of Android 16 for compatible Pixel tablets and smartphones. The incremental upgrade is a part of the first release candidate build. It addresses another set of bugs and brings system-wide improvements.

Google is pushing the new software upgrade with the BP22.250325.007 build number. The update is based on the April 2025 monthly security patch. The incremental upgrade weighs around 1.13GB in download size.

Talking about the availability, the Android 16 beta is available for all Pixel devices starting from the Pixel 6 series, including Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

There are multiple ways to get access to the new update, if your Pixel is already running on Android 16 beta, the OTA update will hit your device anytime. You can also sideload the Android 16 build if you want. Before moving to the steps, take a look at the fixes coming with the update.

The update addresses the radar map not showing in the Pixel Weather app, haptic performance issues, battery draining issues, and more.

    • Fixed issue that caused excessive power drain on some devices (Issue # 395519809)
    • Fixed issue that caused a system restart when a call was answered in some situations (Issue # 402639338)
    • Fixed issue that caused restart when screen magnification is enabled (Issue # 408330740)
    • Fixed issue where screen saver did not start (Issue # 398963286)
    • Fixed issue where phone restarted when ranging API used (Issue # 406577030)
  • Other resolved issues
    • Fixed various other issues that impacted system stability and performance, including a launcher crash

The Android 16 Beta 4 is available to users who have enrolled in the beta program for their eligible Pixel devices. If youโ€™ve opted for the beta update, youโ€™ll receive it via over-the-air (OTA) updates.
