Install ADB and Fastboot Driver on Windows PC

Installing system ADB Fastboot driver is quite easy. You can also use this tool to install the correct USB driver for your phone. Here I will also mentioned the steps for installing USB driver, but you can skip step 1,2,4 if you don’t want it.

  1. Enable developer options and USB debugging on your Android phone, if you want to install USB driver too. And make sure to connect with MTP or File Transfer Option Selected.
  2. Connect your Phone to your PC and allow USB debugging.
  3. Now launch the ADB installer bat file on your PC.

  4. It will begin installing drivers on your PC. And if you have connected your phone, it will ask for confirmation on your phone, tap on OK.
  5. Once the installation is complete, tap any button to exit. Now you can use ADB and Fastboot commands from any file and directory.

If you have a 15 seconds ADB Installer (download) from snoop05, then you can follow these steps to install it. However the tool is outdated and is no longer being updated by the developer. But it still works, so if you have its file, here are the steps.

  1. Run the ADB & Fastboot setup as an administrator. ADB and Fastboot drivers
  2. A command prompt window will open with pre-written tasks. ADB and Fastboot drivers
  3. Write the following:
    • Do you want to install ADB and Fastboot? – Y and press enter. ADB and Fastboot drivers

    • Do you want to install device drivers? – Y and press enter. ADB and Fastboot drivers
  4. When you press Y on the last command a pop up will appear.

If you have installed the driver successfully on your Windows PC, but your device is still not showing in the connected list then you can fix it by updating the driver.

Open Device Manager and if it shows yellow icon as in image, Right-click on it and then click update driver. Next, click onย Browse from the desktopย then click onย Let me pick. Thenย select the Androidย option.

Now select bootloader if you are using fastboot mode and then Install. Or select ADB Interface options for the adb connectivity. This will fix the ADB & Fastboot problem.

Use of ADB Driver

ADB stands for Android Debug Bridge where the bridge term specifies most of its meaning. ADB driver contains Android SDK files so you don’t need to install drivers for different devices, the one-time installation will work with all phones.

ADB helps to complete tasks like copying files between computer and phone, install and uninstall apps using pc, control phones from shell commands, etc. These are some basic tasks that can be accomplished by the ADB driver.

Use of Fastboot Driver

The Fastboot driver does a similar work which is connecting the phone with the PC. But it works in the case when the phone is in Fastboot mode. Fastboot helps to flash files into the system. Flashing into the system like installing recovery, bootloader, and kernels.
