Apple is kicking off the week with another round of software updates for its devices. The company has released iOS 26.6 Beta 3 to developers, alongside iOS 26.5.2 for the public. With iOS 27 already available in developer beta, many users may have already switched to testing the next major release. However, if you’re still running iOS 26, both iOS 26.6 Beta 3 and iOS 26.5.2 are important updates.
Both updates are available for iPhone 11 and newer models. While iOS 26.6 Beta 3 continues Apple’s testing of the next iOS 26 update with additional refinements and bug fixes, iOS 26.5.2 delivers important fixes and improvements for users who prefer to stay on the stable release channel.
Today, Apple released several updates, including iPadOS 26.6 Beta 3, watchOS 26.6 Beta 3, tvOS 26.6 Beta 3, macOS Tahoe 26.6 Beta 3, visionOS 26.6 Beta 3, iPadOS 26.5.2, macOS Tahoe 26.5.2, macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 RC3, and macOS Sonoma 14.8.8 RC3.
The iOS 26.5.2 update comes with build number 23F84 and its OTA size could be around 1GB, depending on your model. On the other hand, the iOS 26.6 Beta 3 update carries build number 23G5052d and weighs in multiple GBs.
Both updates bring only minor changes and improvements. This was expected since iOS 27 is the primary focus now, with the major release set for September. While iOS 26.6 Beta focuses on stability improvement for beta users, the iOS 26.5.2 update brings important security updates to the public.
If you are on an iOS 26 build and haven’t opted for beta, you will receive the iOS 26.5.2 update on your eligible iPhone. However, if you have opted for iOS 26 beta, you’ll receive the iOS 26.6 Beta 3 update. You can easily switch between beta and non-beta options since you haven’t installed a higher build.
You can check for the update in Settings > General > Software update and beta updates for beta options. Make sure to take a backup of your device before installing any update.
