After slightly more than a month of testing, Apple has finally released iOS 26.5 to the public. It is the fifth big update since the initial release of iOS 26 and is available for iPhone 11 and newer models.
Apple started testing iOS 26.5 in early April and, since then, released four beta builds along with two release candidate builds.
The iOS 26.5 update carries build number 23F77, which is the same build as the RC2 released late last week. If you’re updating from iOS 26.4, the update size can exceed 1GB, so it’s recommended to download it over WiFi.

Now coming to the new changes and features, the update brings new Pride Luminance wallpapers, end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging, and various other improvements.
Check out the full changelog below.
- End-to-end encrypted RCS messaging (beta) in Messages is available with supported carriers and will roll out over time.
- Pride Luminance wallpaper that dynamically refracts a spectrum of colors, is available for download
- Suggested Places in Maps displays recommendations based on what’s trending nearby and your recent searches
If you own an eligible iPhone and haven’t selected beta update, the new public iOS 26.5 update will be available on your device. To check for the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
In case you have a beta update installed, you can turn off the beta update in Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Update. The official iOS 26.5 update will be available immediately, given you have not update to iOS 26.5 RC2.
