Prerequisites

  • Make sure your phone has root access (Guide)
  • Install Gboard on your phone (Skip if already installed)
  • Magisk should be installed on your phone

Download Magisk Module for Gboard Themes

Thanks to RKBD for the Gboard themes module that is available for free and comes with hundreds of Gboard themes. So first you have to download the module on your Magisk. If the Magisk Manager app is not installed then first install it on your phone. Gboard Themes

Now open the Magisk Manager app on your phone and tap on the three bar on the top left corner. Then select the Download option from the menu. Tap on the search icon and search for ‘Gboard Themes‘. It will show the Gboard themes module, so tap on the Download icon which will beside the module. It will give a popup with the option to download and install, so click on the Install button and it will take few seconds to install.

After installing the Gboard themes module it will show an option to Reboot, tap on it and wait for the device to boot into the system. If you will not reboot your phone then the module will not take effect which means you can’t access new themes so reboot your phone.

How to Open Gboard Settings

If you have more than one Keyboard app installed on your phone then you need to set Gboard as default keyboard. So first set the Gboard as default. Then open Settings on your phone and go to System > Languages & Input. Inside the app go to Virtual Keyboard and then tap on Gboard. Gboard Themes

Access New Gboard Themes

After installing the module and reboot, new themes will be added to the Gboard but you need to access it from Settings. So first open Settings on your phone and go to System > Languages & input > Virtual keyboard > Gboard > Theme. Gboard Themes

It will show a list of Gboard themes in different categories. You can click on Show More to access all the new themes. You will find all the new interesting and attractive themes. Choose your favorite themes then download it and it will ask to apply, so click on Apply and enjoy it.

Note: When you want to apply any theme, make sure to keep the Key borders off. Otherwise the new theme may not take effect.
