Oppo has started rolling out ColorOS 16.1 for the Oppo Find X9 series, with major changes and several new features. It’s a significant update following ColorOS 16, which was released just a few months ago.
OnePlus has also begun rolling out the equivalent OxygenOS 16.1 update for the OnePlus 15, which we covered in a separate article.
The ColorOS 16.1 update for the Oppo Find X9 comes with build number CPH2797_16.0.7.205(B60P01), although the build number may vary depending on the device model. Since it’s a big update, it is around 2.5GB in size, so it’s recommended to download it over Wi-Fi.
The ColorOS 16.1 update is currently rolling out in India and is expected to expand to other regions soon. Oppo is also likely to release the update for more eligible devices in the coming weeks.

ColorOS 16.1 is a feature-rich update with new additions and improvements. Starting with the control center, it now looks more polished thanks to enhanced blur effects that give it a more premium look. The update also brings several new AI-powered features, including AI Menu translation, AI Mind pilot, and more.
The update makes ColorOS feel noticeably smoother with improved animations across almost the entire UI, along with some new visual effects. Many of these animations appear to take inspiration from Apple’s liquid glass design language. There’s also a new feature called Live Space, which resembles Samsung’s Now Bar but with liquid glass animations. Live Space shows live activities in a neatly organized pill on the lock screen.
On the lock screen, expanding and minimizing the music player now feels much more fluid thanks to advanced animation effects that apply to entire surrounding elements, including the clock. Other additions include a redesigned Camera UI, new photo watermarks, and several other visual enhancements.
Overall, the update is heavily inspired by the liquid glass design, and you can tell immediately. However, Oppo seems to have implemented the design quite well, and it appears quite fluid.
If you own an Oppo Find X9 device, you can upgrade to the ColorOS 16.1 update and enjoy all the new features. However, if the update isn’t available for your device yet, don’t worry; it will be released soon as it’s being rolled out in batches, starting with beta users. Before installing the update, make sure to take a full backup of your device just in case.
