OnePlus releases Android 17 Beta 3 for OnePlus 15

Summarize This Article:

Two months ago, OnePlus kick-started the beta testing of Android 17 on its flagship OnePlus 15 smartphone. Now, the company has released the third Android 17 beta, based on Google’s latest beta build. As expected, the update brings a range of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.

As always, OnePlus has officially shared this news on its community forum. Still, the beta is intended for developers and advanced users who are comfortable working with custom ROMs. If you have not flashed a phone before, I strongly recommend waiting for the open beta or stable release to avoid bricking your device.

Despite being an incremental update, the third Android 17 beta for the OnePlus 15 still carries a number of known issues that are yet to be addressed. Check out the complete list of known issues.

  • Bluetooth usage issue. (Recovery Path: Settings – Apps – App management – The three dots in the upper right corner – Show system – Bluetooth – Storage usage – Clear data)
  • Display abnormalities, lag, etc. may occur in some system apps and settings under certain scenarios.
  • Certain system applications and settings may encounter issues, such as no response, unusable, malfunctions, crashes, etc.
  • Display abnormalities, usage issues, etc. may occur on the camera in certain scenarios.
  • Some 3rd-party compatibility issues.

In terms of availability, Android 17 Beta 3 for the OnePlus 15 is available to users in India and the EU. You can not update your phone if you own TMO/VZW variant. If your phone is running on any of these builds: 16.0.5.700 / 16.0.5.703 / Android 17 Beta 2, you can go ahead and update your device. If your phone is running on an older software version, please update to the newest version.

Before updating your device, make sure to charge it to at least 30%, and 4GB of free storage is required. The update is only compatible with unlocked variants and will not work with carrier variants.
