Apple seeds second iOS 26.5 RC with final bug fixes

Summarize This Article:

Earlier this week, Apple released the iOS 26.5 Release Candidate to developers and beta testers. Now, the company is ending the week with a second iOS 26.5 RC that includes additional fixes and a different build number.

Over the past few months, Apple has released several second RC builds, so it’s starting to feel quite normal to expect another RC within the same week as the first one. As usual, iOS 26.5 RC2 brings only minor changes compared to the first RC build.

The iOS 26.5 RC2 update comes with build number 23F77 and is around 400MB in size if you’re updating from the first RC. The update may be larger if you’re coming from an earlier beta or a public release build.

iOS 26.5 RC2 Update

As mentioned earlier, the update includes only minor changes and bug fixes, but they are important enough for Apple to release a second RC instead of moving directly to the public rollout. One of the main fixes addresses the disappearing color picker issue in the new Pride Luminance wallpapers. So, if you’re currently on the first RC build, it’s recommended to update to RC2.

The official iOS 26.5 release is expected next week, which is anticipated to be the same as this second RC. However, Apple may make some tweaks and release it with a different build number.

To check for the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update. Make sure to download the update over WiFi and take a backup of your data before installing it. If you notice any major changes in this RC build, feel free to share them in the comments.
