Forza Horizon 6 – one of the most anticipated games of the year just got leaked. Yes, the game that was scheduled for release on the 19th of May, with early access beginning on the 15th of May, just got leaked and has also been cracked, with its files made available on file-sharing sites.
The leak of Forza Horizon 6 occurred because the game’s Steam files were not encrypted, making it easy to crack and distribute the game for free. The studio behind the game, Playground Games, quickly initiated bans, copyright notices, and takedowns for all and any content of the game that was made available right after the leak.
There have been players who took to social platforms like Reddit and Threads, where they posted about the game getting leaked, and with some players even playing the leaked game right away. However, Microsoft and Playground Games have been pretty quick in catching these players who decided to try to play the leaked game by pushing out harsh but extremely deserved bans for Forza Horizon 6. In fact, there have been many reports about players getting the Hardware ban hammer from Microsoft.
There have been reports of many accounts getting hardware bans lasting up to 8000 years. The reason for the hardware bans is simple- these players have no way of bypassing these types of hardware bans, even if they try to use hardware ID spoolers, as a lot of these tools contain keyloggers and malware to get some, if not all, of your data from your PC.trying to re-install Windows on your PC will not help you bypass the ban.
So, does this leak and the game getting cracked hurt the sales for Forza Horizon 6? Not exactly, a lot of users have pre-ordered the game in order to enjoy the early access starting from the 15th of May. Fans of the game on social media in various Forza Horizon groups are looking forward to legally playing the game when it releases via early access on the 15th of May 2026.
Forza Horizon 6 is currently available for pre-order via Steam for PC and the Xbox Store for the Xbox Series X and Series S. Details about the PlayStation 5 version of the game are still behind closed curtains.
