Redmi’s popular Note lineup is expected to gain two new members soon with the launch of the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro. These devices are expected to succeed the Redmi Note 15 series, as Xiaomi is reportedly planning to skip the Redmi Note 16 branding and move directly to the Note 17 series. According to recent reports, the new lineup could be unveiled as early as next month. The series details have also been leaked recently.
According to a post by Smart Pikachu on Weibo, first spotted by Gizmochina, the standard Redmi Note 17 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, a massive 9000mAh battery, water resistance, a 1.5K flat display, and a 50MP primary rear camera.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is rumored to receive even bigger upgrades. It is expected to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset and pack an even larger 10,000mAh battery. Other rumored specifications include a 1.5K flat display, water resistance, and a 200MP main camera. However, the source did not reveal the exact display size or the device’s official IP rating.
It’s worth noting that these leaked specifications are for the Chinese variants, which are expected to debut in July. The global versions may feature different hardware or specifications and are likely to launch later than their Chinese variants.
There is also going to be a Redmi Note 17 Pro+ just like the Redmi Note 15 series, and it may launch sometime after the launch of the standard Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro. As we move closer to the launch of the upcoming duo, we can expect more details to surface in the coming weeks.
