Earlier this week, Google officially released the Android 14 update for Pixel phones and Samsung announced its latest custom skin – One UI 6.0 for Galaxy devices. The company has already been testing the skin on a bunch of Galaxy phones including the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy A34, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy A54.

Samsung now expands the testing to its latest foldable smartphone – the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Yes, the One UI 6.0 based Android 14 beta program goes live for the Fold 5. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 should also get beta access in a matter of time.

Samsung is pushing the initial beta to the foldable with the F946BXXU1ZWJ2 software version number. At the time of writing, the beta testing program is live in the US and India, it should expand to more regions very soon. If you are interested in trying out the beta on your device, then you can enroll in the One UI 6 Beta program from the Samsung Members app.

Folks over at XDA-Developers shared a screenshot of the new upgrade, confirming the October 2023 monthly security patch. One UI 6 is a substantial upgrade, the first beta weighs a whopping 2.7GB in download size.

Moving to the features and changes, the One UI 6 packs with a slew of new features including the redesigned Quick Settings, more customization controls on the lock screen, new One UI Sans font, new emojis, a new media player, separate battery settings, and many more. You can check the complete list of new features coming with One UI 6.

The wait is over, you can finally join the One UI 6 beta program to try out the new skin on your Galaxy Z Fold 5. However, please keep in mind that the initial beta release may have some issues, so we don’t recommend installing beta builds on your primary smartphone.

If you are in a haste and want to join the beta program, you need to install the Samsung Members app on your smartphone, once done, open the app and find the One UI 6 beta banner and tap on it.

If not available you can check for Notices section (bell icon). There you will see the One UI 6 Beta banner. Tap on it and follow instructions. After that you can check for the update in Settings > Software Update.
