The update is rumored to bring several new features, visual improvements, and AI enhancements. Here, we’ll talk about the One UI 9 release date, features, and eligible devices.

With the first One UI 9 beta already available, we now have some official information about Samsung’s next major update. If you own a Samsung Galaxy device and are wondering what One UI 9 brings and whether your device will receive the update, keep reading to find out everything we know so far.

One UI 9 Release Date

Samsung appears to be closely following last year’s rollout timeline. The One UI 8 beta program began in May, and the One UI 9 beta has also started in the same month this year. However, the update may still take some time to reach older Galaxy devices. The Galaxy S26 series is expected to receive the stable update first, possibly in August or September, while other eligible devices are likely to follow afterward in phases.

One UI 9 Features

The next major Android 17-based One UI 9 update is expected to bring significant improvements, including smoother animations, enhanced performance, more customization options, and several new features. Since the first One UI 9 beta is already available, we now have some official changes and features that will come in the update.

Samsung Notes: It gets some new tools like decorative tapes and extra pen styles for more creative note-taking.

Creative Studio in Contacts: Create personalized profile cards directly inside the Contacts app without switching apps.

Quick Panel: Brightness, sound, and media player are each independently adjustable. This will open room for further Quick Panel customization.

Combined TalkBack Package: Samsung and Google accessibility features are now combined in one package.

Text Spotlight: Selected text will appear larger or more clearly in a floating window.

Stronger app security: One UI 9 can detect risky apps, warn users, and block installation/execution.

More Adaptive Clock Styles: The One UI 8 introduced the adaptive lock screen clock but it only has one font or style. One UI 9 is expected to bring more.

The One UI 9 will also carry stock features of Android 17.

That’s everything we know so far about One UI 9. Most of the features mentioned above have already been officially confirmed by Samsung, except for the new adaptive clock fonts. Meanwhile, the expected release timeline and list of supported devices are currently based on Samsung’s software update policy, past rollout history, and recent rumors.
