Apple’s upcoming iPhone lineup has surfaced in the form of dummy units. The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra dummy models offer a real-life look at the device’s design. We’ve already seen CAD renders earlier, and these dummy units appear to be based on those same designs.
CAD renders are shared with case makers and include precise details such as dimensions, ports placements, and camera module design. As a result, dummy units based on these CAD renders are generally expected to be accurate in terms of overall shape and design.
The iPhone 18 Pro dummy units show design identical to iPhone 17 Pro models. There are only minor changes, including a thicker camera island and camera modules. The thickness of the iPhone 18 Pro is slightly higher than the iPhone 17 Pro.
In terms of measurements, the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s thickness is around 11.54mm including the camera island thickness. It is around 13.77mm, including the camera bump. For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s thickness is around 11.23mm and 12.92mm respectively. Other things, such as the camera island and MagSafe positions, appear to be the same.

Regarding the iPhone Ultra (iPhone Fold), the most noticeable difference is the absence of the Apple’s signature MagSafe. Yes, it may come without the MagSafe support.
The iPhone Ultra dummy showcases two rear cameras in a long horizontal bar unlike the iPhone 18 Pro, which has its camera island stretched end to end. The source of the dummy units, Max Tech, also showcased the unfolded state of the iPhone Fold, which has screen width comparable to the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s length.
The iPhone Fold dummy was compared to the iPad Mini, and the upcoming Fold will be slightly smaller than the Mini. Apple has opted for a different aspect ratio compared to the Galaxy Fold series, which is typically taller but narrower when unfolded.
All three iPhone models are expected to launch later this year, most likely in September. Apple is reportedly adopting a different launch strategy this time by separating the release schedule of the Pro and non-Pro models.
