The remaining months of the year are shaping up to be packed with highly anticipated launches. We’re expected to see several foldable devices, including Apple’s first foldable and Samsung’s next-generation foldables. Following the iPhone Ultra dummy leak, new dummy units of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, and Fold 8 Wide have also surfaced.
Alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, Samsung is rumored to introduce an additional foldable with a different aspect ratio. The device is expected to launch as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, featuring a wider design compared to the regular model. It will likely compete with Apple’s upcoming foldable, the iPhone Ultra, which is also expected to introduce with similar form factor.
The upcoming Galaxy foldable trio has already appeared in several leaks, including CAD renders. Now we’re getting a look at early physical dummy units that showcase their design and overall shape. These are likely to be based on CAD renders. Sonny Dickson shared images of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Wide, and Flip 8 dummies in a post on X.
While these dummies aren’t highly detailed, they offer a closer look gives the closer look at the overall design of all three devices. From the rear, both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 appear to retain designs similar to their predecessors. This includes a vertical camera module housing three cameras on the Fold 8 and a horizontal camera island housing two cameras on the Flip 8.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will be an entirely new addition, featuring a wider screen compared to the standard Fold model. Its overall design appears to be inspired by the Fold 8, but with some changes, such as a vertical camera module housing two rear cameras, along with the LED flash integrated within the camera bar.
The dummy units of all three models also reveal the presence of a wireless charging coil. However, there’s no confirmation yet on whether they will support MagSafe or similar magnetic charging technology.
The front side of the dummy units doesn’t reveal anything significant. However, with each passing week, more details about these devices are expected to surface. The Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Wide, and Flip 8 are expected to launch at the next Unpacked event, which could take place in the coming months.
