A few days ago, Google kicked off the Android 15 software upgrade for Pixel phones and tablets. Following this public release, other smartphone manufacturers began announcing their rollout plans for Android 15.

But what about TCL? If you own a TCL smartphone and want to know whether your phone will receive an Android 15 update or not, we have some insights for you.

This year, TCL unveiled many new smartphones and tablets, expanding the NXTPAPER lineup and number series side-by-side. You’ll be glad to know that most of these phones and tablets are eligible for the anticipated Android 15 software upgrade. TCL has officially confirmed the list of phones eligible for the Android 15 update.

It appears that TCL is revising its update policy. While previously released phones were restricted to a single OS upgrade, there are some phones in the TCL 50 series, scheduled to receive two major OS upgrades and five years of security updates, including the Android 16 update.

When it comes to timely software releases, expectations from TCL remain low, as the company’s track record with the last two major OS upgrades has been less than impressive. So, if you own the recently released model, you can not expect the Android 15 update to come out anytime soon.

Now let’s take a look at the list of phones eligible for the Android 15 update.

  • TCL 50 5G (up to Android 16)
  • TCL 50 NXTPAPER 5G (up to Android 16)
  • TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER 5G (up to Android 16)
  • TCL 50 SE
  • TCL 50 XL 5G
  • TCL 505
  • TCL Tab 8 Gen 2 and LTE
  • TCL Tab 10 NXTPAPER 5G
  • TCL Tab 11 Gen 2 and LTE
  • TCL Tab 11 FE

If you own the TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G or any other smartphone released this year and the company hasn’t provide enough information about these models. These phones may not receive the Android 15 update.

Speaking of the features coming with the Android 15 update, then the upgrade will bring Private Space, Partial Screen Sharing, Satellite Connectivity Support, Earthquake alert system, Offline maps for Wear OS, App Archiving, and more.
