Android 15 starts rolling out to Pixel, Time to Upgrade

The wait is finally over – Android 15 update is now rolling out to Pixel devices. The anticipated software upgrade comes out one month after the release of AOSP. For the time being, the update is rolling out to select devices with a broader rollout should follow later this week.

Google has officially confirmed the rollout news on its Pixel Support Community. The update is rolling out to Pixel 6 and later models, including the Pixel tablet and foldable smartphones. Android 15 update for Pixel phones is rolling out with the Pixel October 2024 update and latest Pixel Feature Drop, seeding with AP3A.241005.015 build number.

Google has been testing the Android 15 update since February. After extensively testing the update, Google today finally pushed the stable update to Pixel devices. Here’s the complete list of Pixel phones that received Android 15 update.

Since three updates are combined together, its a real treat for Pixel Phone users. The list of new features is extensive. While general fixes and small additions are part of monthly update, Android 15 and October Pixel Feature Drop add tons of useful features.

The Android 15 update is seeding with Private Space, Partial Screen Sharing, Satellite Connectivity Support, new features for the Pixel Camera app, an Earthquake alert system, Offline maps for Wear OS, App Archiving, and more.

The update is rolling out to users over the air and can take some time before it is available to every eligible devices. In case you haven’t received the Android 15 update notification yet, you can manually check for new updates by navigating to Settings > System > System Update.

If you donโ€™t want to wait for the update roll out for your device, you can always manually install the new available update using the official Android Flash Tool. There are other methods but Android Flash tool is easy and safe.

Before you upgrade, make sure to take backup on your device so that you donโ€™t lose data in case the update goes sideways.
