As stated earlier, Android users can also make use of Apple’s Vehicle Motion Cues feature using a third-party app named KineStop. The app had conceived the same revolutionary concept as far back as 2018.
It’s a free-to-use app that aims to get rid of kinetosis, another meaning for motion sickness. The application functions the same as Apple’s Vehicle Motion Cues in iOS 18. It places a series of dots on the screen that ingeniously respond to the motion of the vehicle. The KineStop app is available for all Android phones running on Android 7 or later versions. Follow the below steps to learn how to set it up.
Step 1: First, install the KineStop app from the Play Store.
Step 2: Once installed, open it and allow the permission to draw over other apps. To do this, tap OK, then select the KineStop app from the list and turn on the toggle for Allow display over other apps.
Step 3: Now, go back to the application and click on the start icon at the bottom-right corner.
Step 4: The app should then start showing an overlay with a bunch of bubbles.
Step 5: The watery overlay and bubbles in the shade of blue are the default theme. However, you can change it. For this, tap on the Theme dropdown and select your preferred one.
Step 6: To activate KineStop automatically when you are in a moving vehicle, tap on the settings icon at the top and enable the checkbox for Auto-start in vehicle. Now, you will need to allow the app access to the physical activity and tap Allow.
Moreover, you can also add the KineStop app tile on your Android phone’s control center. This helps you activate the feature by just tapping on the tile. To add it, swipe from the top of the screen to open the control center or quick access settings on your Android phone. Click on the pencil icon and look for KineStop. Hold and drag it into the active tiles to add it. Once added, you can easily activate the feature by tapping on the tile in the control center.
