Apple has been painstakingly working on enhancing the iPhone’s lock screen. While there is always room for improvement, even with the numerous customization features already available, one aspect has remained unchangeable: the controls at the bottom of the lock screen.
In iOS 18, you can finally customize these lock screen controls, by following this step-by-step tutorial on how to change lock screen controls in iOS 18.
The new customization feature allows you to choose from over 50 controls available in the control gallery. Additionally, you can also add controls from third-party apps such as Snapchat. Hopefully, the third-party support will be expanded once iOS 18 is available to the public. For those who prefer a cleaner lock screen, you can remove the controls entirely.
If you think this is all about the new customization feature, you’ll be pleased to know that you can also add a shortcut button as a lock screen control. This opens endless possibilities, allowing you to launch apps, enable accessibility features, and much more.
Now let’s dive right into the steps to change lock screen controls on iPhone.
