Samsungโ€™s latest Galaxy Unpacked event saw the launch of the new foldable, the new smartwatch, and the next generation of the Galaxy Buds. This will be the third generation of the Galaxy Buds, and they come with a new Apple AirPods-like design. While the other devices are great, the Galaxy Buds will be purchased by many people, including those who use Galaxy devices and even those who might prefer the Galaxy Buds 3 or the Buds 3 Pro with their iPhones.ย

However, as it is known, many devices are usually compatible with iOS devices, but the real question is, is the new lineup of the Galaxy Buds 3 and 3 Pro compatible with iPhone?

Letโ€™s take a look.

Is the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro Compatible with iPhone?

Out of the box, the Galaxy Buds 3 and the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro will work perfectly fine with the Galaxy lineup of devices. You can also make use of all the features on your Android Samsung smartphones and take advantage of all the AI features these new Galaxy Buds come with. However, when it comes to using the brand new Galaxy Buds 3 and the Buds 3 Pro with iPhones, you will be missing out on a lot of features, especially the Galaxy Buds app.

Yes, you can use the Galaxy Buds 3 with iPhone via Bluetooth, but, you will also lose out on several features. These include the AI implementation, the ability to update and install new Galaxy Buds firmware, and additional hardware features that will work just fine on almost any Galaxy or Android-powered smartphone.

Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro AI Features

Just like how Samsung has brought its Galaxy AI features to the Galaxy Buds 2 lineup, the newer Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro also come with smart AI features such as the Interpreter feature. With this feature, you can have conversations with people in different languages in real time.

Additionally, the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro are also able to bring more clarity to your voice during phone calls. With microphones closer to your face and also the newly added Super Wideband support, you can get better voice quality and clarity when using these Galaxy Buds. It will be able to clear away any type of noise background and air, and also be able to rebuild certain bits of the audio that might have gotten lost simply because of disturbances. This may have caused some words to not be captured by the Budsโ€™ microphones.

What Galaxy Buds Have Support for Apple iPhones?

Only two models of the Galaxy Buds are compatible with the Galaxy Wearable app. You can easily use the Galaxy Buds Live and the Galaxy Buds+ with the iPhone. The other models out there including the Galaxy Buds 3, Buds 3 Pro, Buds 2, Buds 2 Pro, and the Galaxy Buds can be used with your iPhone via Bluetooth only.

The rest of the features that come with these Galaxy Buds will not be functioning on your Apple iPhone or any Apple-powered device. At least with the Galaxy Buds Live and the Galaxy Buds+ iPhone users will be able to make use of several features that come with these Galaxy Buds.

Of course, as long as you use the free Galaxy Wearable app from the App Store, you do not have to worry. Here is a list of the features that can be used with these supported Galaxy Buds on your iPhone.

  • View Earbuds and Charging case battery status
  • Enable Ambient Sounds (Galaxy Buds+ only)
  • Enable Active noise Cancellation (Galaxy Buds Live only)
  • Adjust Audio Equalizers
  • Control Earbuds via Touch
  • Use Find by Earbuds
  • Easily update the software of your Earbuds

Galaxy Buds 3 and 3 Pro-Should You Get It?

While the new generation of Galaxy Buds seems to have new features, Galaxy AI, and better hardware as well as design changes, it is recommended to use these Buds on either any Samsung Galaxy device or any Android-powered device. It does not look like Samsung will open up its features to work for the Apple iPhone and its other iOS-powered devices.

Why so? Well, if Apple can lock and keep the features of its AirPods for iOS devices only, then Samsung can simply not provide feature support for the iPhones. You can still use the Earbuds on your iPhone by connecting to it via Bluetooth. Just note that you will miss everything good that the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro have to offer.
