After a long wait, Apple has finally started Apple Intelligence beta testing with the release of first iOS 18.1 Beta. The iOS 18.1 beta 1 is currently only available for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Also, users in the EU and China will not get Apple Intelligence features at least for now.
Installing the iOS 18.1 beta doesn’t mean the wait is over. You’ll have to join the Apple Intelligence waitlist to enable AI features on your iPhone, as you won’t see new features by default after installing the iOS 18 beta 1 update.
How to Get Apple Intelligence Features Right Away
Its quite easy to join the waitlist for AI on iPhone. Make sure to install the iOS 18.1 developer beta on your iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro. You can follow our guide on how to install iOS beta update, which we shared a few weeks ago. Take note that it could have bugs since its the first beta.
To join the waitlist, the device languange and Siri language must be set to US English. And the device region must be set to the US.
Let’s now see the steps you need to follow to get AI features right now.
- Once the iOS 18.1 beta 1 is installed on your iPhone, open Settings and you will find a new option “Apple Intelligence & Siri”, open it.
- Here you will find AI related settings along with option “Join the Apple Intelligence waitlist.” Tap the option.
- Next, you will get a pop-up, tap Join Waitlist.
That’s it, now wait for the new Apple Intelligence features on your iPhone. These feature are mostly available without much wait. Once you join the AI waitlist, it is also expected that you will receive upcoming Apple Intelligence features early in beta. Yes, there will be more AI features in future. Currently, there are limited features in the first iOS 18.1 Beta 1.
It’s possible that you may decide not to install iOS 18.1 Beta update because of bugs. In that case you can wait for the iOS 18.1 Public release, which is expected in October. iOS 18 will be available to the Public in September but it will not include Apple Intelligence.
