Last year, Google introduced AirDrop support on the Pixel 10 series, which uses Android’s Quick Share to share and receive files. Later, AirDrop sharing support was added to a few more Pixel devices and the Galaxy S26 series. Oppo and Vivo also brought AirDrop to their devices, including Find X9 Ultra, Find N6, and X300 Ultra.
Earlier this week, during Android Show: I/O Edition, Google announced that AirDrop support via Quick Share will expand to more Android devices later this year. This includes devices from Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, Vivo, Xiaomi, and Honor. This could address one of the long-standing frustrations users have faced when sharing files between Android and iOS devices.
Here’s the list of devices officially confirmed by Google to receive AirDrop support soon.
- Samsung: Galaxy S25 series, S24 series, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 7, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 6, Z TriFold
- Oppo: Find X8 series
- OnePlus: OnePlus 15
- Honor: Magic V6, Magic 8 Pro
If you own any of these Android devices, you can expect to receive AirDrop support through Quick Share in the coming months.
The AirDrop support is also expected to expand to more Android phones over time, so even if your device isn’t on the list above, there’s still a good chance it will receive the support, especially if it’s a relatively recent model. However, some devices may have to wait a bit longer than the officially announced ones.
Google has also introduced a cloud-based file-sharing method for Android devices that do not support the new AirDrop experience. To use it, simply generate a QR code through Quick Share on your Android phone, and the iPhone or Apple device user can scan it to receive the files through the cloud.
