Earlier this week, Samsung officially kicked off the One UI 9 beta program for the Galaxy S26 series, with the rollout going live just yesterday. As is typical with early beta builds, the initial release came with some bugs, and Samsung has already moved to address them, dropping a hotfix update for One UI 9 Beta 1 in the US.
Samsung Enthusiast Tarun Vats has confirmed that the update is rolling out in the USA and addressed the issue where mobile data cannot be connected in some carriers. The update is seeding with firmware ending with ZZEG build number. The update weighs around 520MB in size and is based on the May 2026 security patch version.
Speaking of the features, then as per the official announcement, One UI 9 brings some major new features, including new tools in Samsung Notes, Creative Studio in Contacts, an improved Quick Panel, Text Spotlight, new Galaxy AI features, and more. You can check out the complete details in our dedicated article.
If you own a Galaxy S26 device and want to experience the Android 17-centric One UI 9.0 before its public rollout, you can register for the One UI 9 Beta program. As usual, you can register from the Samsung Members app > Notice or Banner for Beta > Read all the details and simply tap the Register button.
The first beta of One UI 9 will be available immediately after registration. You can check the update in Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Don’t forget to back up your data before installing the beta version.
