Nokia 2.2 is a budget phone which is the latest Nokia phone receiving an Android 11 update. It’s another good news for Nokia 2.2 users after the unofficial unlock bootloader support. And you can now also root your Nokia 2.2. But if you want to update your Nokia 2.2 to Android 11 we don’t recommend unlocking bootloader. Unlike the Android 10 update last year, Nokia is slightly behind rolling out Android 11 updates. But we think Nokia will cover up soon with the pace they are going on. In a week Nokia rolled out the Android 11 update for more than 3 devices including Nokia 2.2.
Nokia 2.2 was released in 2019 with Android 9 out of the box. And since it is an Android One phone, Nokia promised to deliver at least two major updates. It seems Nokia stood to their words and delivering the second major update for Nokia 2.2 as Android 11.
The Android 11 for Nokia 2.2 is currently rolling out for devices eligible for Wave 1 rollout. This is not new as we already know, Nokia releases stable updates in different waves. But don’t worry majority of Nokia 2.2 users will get the update in the first wave itself. Below you can check which regions are included in wave 1.

If you have a Nokia 2.2 phone, then you may have already received the update (only for Wave 1 regions). But if not then you will get the update on your phone by April 17th. Sometimes users don’t receive Android updates via notification. So, in that case, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > System > Software Update.
Now coming to the new features, you can expect most of the stock Android 11 features. It is because Nokia phones come with Stock UI. Obviously, some features depend on hardware functionality. But you will get to experience most of the features such as chat bubbles, a new Notification panel with history, an improvised power menu with smart controls, enhanced privacy settings, and more.
