There are three ROG Phone 5 models, the standard, the Pro, and the Ultimate. All three phones were released in the first quarter of 2021. The Rog Phone 5 series features a big 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 144Hz support. The series comes with the latest Snapdragon 888 SoC and the Adreno 660 GPU, great for gaming. All three phones run on ROG UI based Android 11. Later you can expect a few Android updates.

Why Relock the Bootloader?
Rooting or installing a custom ROM requires unlocking the bootloader. Although it is good if you know more than the basics of rooting and custom ROMs, it can create problems if you are not aware of some tweaks. Some apps especially banking apps, may not work because of the unlocked bootloader, which is a part of security. So if you encounter such problems, either you can fix them with some tweaks, or you can also relock bootloader if you are not enjoying unlocked bootloader.
Anyway, if you are here, you already have a valid reason to lock the bootloader of ROG Phone 5 or 5 Pro. So without wasting any time, let’s jump to the methods to lock bootloader of ROG Phone 5.
How to Re-lock Bootloader of ROG Phone 5
It’s really a tougher job than unlocking bootloader. Also, you should know that if you are locking the bootloader, then you may not be able to unlock it again. And it will erase all the data from your phone. Before you lock the bootloader of Asus ROG Phone 5, check out the requirements.
Prerequisites
- Take a full backup of your phone as it will delete data
- You may not be able to unlock it again
- Download ADB & Fastboot drivers (also download platform tools just in case)
- Lock bootloader after switching to Stock ROM (If you have installed a custom ROM)
Steps to Lock Bootloader of ROG Phone 5
- First open Settings and go to System > Developer Options. The developer options will be enabled if you have unlocked the bootloader.
- In developer options, enable USB debugging.
- Install adb & fastboot drivers on your computer.
- Connect your phone with your PC using a USB cable.
- Make sure to allow debugging when prompted on your Phone.
- Go to Platform tools and open the command window/CMD from the folder.
- Now enter the command to check if your device is connected
adb devices
- Enter the below command to enter ROG Phone 5 into bootloader mode.
adb reboot bootloader
- And now enter the mentioned command to lock bootloader of ROG Phone 5.
fastboot oem asus-csc_lk
And that’s how you can relock the bootloader of the Asus ROG Phone 5. In case if the above method didn’t work then make sure to cross-check if correct drivers are installed. Or you can follow the next method.
- Enable USB debugging from the first method and connect your phone to your PC.
- Open CMD from platform tools folder and enter the below command to check if your phone is connected.
adb devices
- Enter the below command to enter ROG Phone 5 into bootloader mode.
adb reboot fastboot
- And now enter the mentioned command to lock the bootloader of ROG Phone 5.
fastboot oem asus-csc_lk
