As stated above, the feature is available to a limited number of users for now so, even if you have updated the Gboard app on your Android smartphone to the latest available beta, you might not find this new feature.

  1. You will need to have the latest Gboard beta (version 14.7)
  2. Open the Settings menu for Gboard.
  3. Choose Preferences followed by Appearance.
  4. The Font menu will be present on this screen.
  5. Tap on it to pick between the system default or the Gboard default font.

Joining The Gboard Beta Version

If you are someone who loves to test out and try new features for the Gboard app before they are released globally, you will have to sign up for the beta version via the Google Play Store, here is how you do it.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap on the Search icon at the bottom and type in Gboard.
  3. From the search results, tap on Gboard to open up the app store page.
  4. Scroll down a bit to where it says Join the beta.
  5. Tap on Join and in a few moments you will register for the beta program for the app.
  6. There will be an app update available for you to install. 
  7. Install the update, and you will now be on the beta version of the Gboard app.
