Between the wave of AI announcements, Wear OS 7.0, and new Android features at Google I/O 2026, Google has also found time to release the third Android 17 QPR1 beta for eligible Pixel devices. The update arrives two weeks after the second beta, with the first QPR1 beta having been released at the end of April. Today’s release further optimizes the upcoming Android 17 update for Pixel devices.
If you own a Pixel 6 or newer device, your phone is eligible for Android 17 update. You can take part in the Android Beta Program to try out the Android 17 QPR1 beta on your device. The update is also available for the recently launched Pixel 10a. Google is rolling out the latest software upgrade to compatible phones with the CP31.260508.005 build number.
For unawares, QPR is the Quarterly Platform Release, which refers to beta updates that arrive every quarter, packing bug fixes and new features. They frequently release alongside a Pixel Feature Drop, giving Pixel owners a chance to test major updates and share feedback with Google ahead of the stable public rollout.
