FuntouchOS 15 Supported Devices, Rollout Schedule, Features, and More

FuntouchOS 15 is Vivo’s take on the Android 15. The company has just announced its newest skin and shared some key details including a list of compatible phones, rollout schedule, features, and more.

In May, Vivo officially began testing the Android 15 developer preview on the Vivo X100 and iQOO 12. After thoroughly testing the update for months, the stable version of the update is now being rolled out to the Vivo X100, iQOO 12, and the Vivo X Fold 3.

Today, the company has officially announced the FuntouchOS 15 skin and it boasts a flurry of new features and enhancements. Let’s explore what’s new coming to the Vivo and iQOO phones.

FuntouchOS 15 – Release Date

FuntouchOS 15 is official! Vivo has become the first Android OEM to release the Android 15 update, even before Google and Samsung. While the update is currently available to select models and users, the broader rollout will officially begin in mid-October, starting with the premium X-series phones, including the X Fold 3 and X100.

The update bags a slew of new features and focuses on efficiency, let’s take a look at all the changes coming with the new skin based on Android 15.

FuntouchOS 15 boasts a big list of new features such as Ultra Game Mode, AI Image Lab, immersive wallpapers, better animations, updated app icons, large folder support for the home screen, call backgrounds, better memory optimization, and other performance upgrades.

Immersive Wallpapers

The latest software update for Vivo and iQOO phones brings immersive wallpapers. If you like customizing your smartphone, there are nine system themes, a variety of static, video, and immersive wallpapers available on the company’s latest custom skin. The immersive wallpapers feature is limited to select phones. We will share the FuntouchOS 15 stock wallpapers, when available to us.

Personalization Features: New App Icons, Lock Screen Customization, Large Folders

Vivo says we redesigned 3,800+ elements, including updated system elements, colors, fonts, and more. Each year companies update some app icons for system apps and the FuntouchOS 15 is no different. You can easily spot updated app icons after updating your phone to the new skin. The update also brings four new fingerprint-recognition animations, large folders support for the home screen, new clock styles for lock screen customization, and more.

AI Features

FuntouchOS 15 brings a bunch of new AI features to Vivo and iQOO smartphones. These features are branded under AI Image Lab, the list includes AI Photo Enhance which intelligently optimizes photos for better quality, AI Super Documents helps you quickly scan documents, and AI Memories feature allows you to create a short movie using some photos from your photo library.

Ultra Game Mode

The update introduces a new ultra game mode which offers some new shortcuts that you can use to adjust settings without stopping playing your games.

Performance-Focused Update

FuntouchOS 15 replaces the Android’s Fair Scheduling algorithm with it’s Priority Scheduling model to ensure 15% faster app startups in overload conditions. Apart from that, the update introduces updated Memory Enhancement technology with up to 40% faster memory compression, smoother touch response, better animations, and a Lightning Speed engine.

Other Features

Talking about the other features, FuntouchOS 15 bags a call background feature, better animations while turning screen on/off, S-capture, Android 15 stock features, and security updates.

Vivo is all set to release the new upgrade for more than 50 phones which includes 39 Vivo and 15 iQOO branded phones. The company is set to roll out the beta update starting next month and it will continue till Mid of June 2025. Here’s the complete list of eligible phones and rollout timeline.
