Just after the Google I/O 2024 event, Android 15 beta is becoming available for non-Pixel devices, including Xiaomi, Realme, Honor, Tecno, Oppo, Vivo, and more. Let’s check out the device availability, how to install it, and known issues.
For the record, Google released Android 15’s developer preview back in February and released beta 1 last month in April. At the annual developer conference, Google I/O 2024, Google released Android 15 beta 2 for several Pixel devices. The company also announced that the beta update will also be available for more brands.
Android 15 Beta for Xiaomi
Android 15 Beta is now available for a few Xiaomi devices, which include the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 13T Pro, and Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4. You can download the preview build from their official website and flash the ROM manually after unlocking the bootloader.
Known Issues:
- Google PlayStore and Wi-Fi not working.
- There are some glitches in animations.
- Compatibility issues with some apps.
- In some scenarios, all the user data is erased during the installation.
Android 15 Beta for Realme
Coming to Realme phones, Android 15 Beta is only available for Realme 12 Pro+ 5G. You can download the beta build from their community website and flash the ROM manually.
Known Issues:
- During the installation, all the user data is erased.
- Some system functions are not available.
- Part of the interface display may look less than desirable.
- Some apps may not work properly, or some may not function at all.
- The device may have some stability issues.
Android 15 Beta for Honor
The Honor Magic 6 Pro and Honor Magic V2 are the only two devices to receive the Android 15 beta update. Just like other OEMs, Honor users can download the ROM from their developer website and flash it manually.
Known Issues:
- HDR effect failure for images in the Gallery app.
- The phone does not restart in some cases.
- Camera crashes as you open or while using it.
- Screen mirroring option not available.
- Parallel space and Magic Portal feature are not available.
- The Dial only displays Card 1 in dual card mode.
Android 15 Beta for Oppo
Oppo has also released the Android 15 Beta 1 update for the Oppo Find N3 for Singapore and Indonesia. Moreover, OPPO Find X7 is also getting Android 15 beta in China. Visit Oppo’s developer website to download the beta build.
Known issues:
- Compatibility issues with the Bluetooth.
- In some scenarios, some camera functions display abnormally.
- Some apps have compatibility issues, such as crashes.
- In some scenarios, the Multi-Screen Connect function is abnormal when connecting with a PC or PAD.
- There are stability issues in specific scenarios.
- The split screen function is abnormal in some scenarios.
- After taking a photo, the photo does not show the ProXDR button.
- The automatic mosaic coding function fails during screenshot preview.
- Long pressing the main body in an image cannot trigger the Smart Image Matting function.
Android 15 Beta for Vivo & iQOO
Vivo devices, including their subsidiary iQOO, Vivo X100, and iQOO 12, users can now download the Android 15 Beta 1 update.
Vivo users in India, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Kazakhstan, and iQOO users in India, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia can now download the build from Vivo’s developer website.
Known issues:
- Notification content cropped.
- Fingerprint sensor indicator overlapped with the unlocking icon.
- Compatibility issues with some apps.
- Certain Settings features cannot be used.
- Abnormal UI display on certain interfaces.
- NFC is not supported.
Android 15 Beta for Tecno
The Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is the first device to receive the Android 15 Beta update. Users can download the beta build from the Tecno community website and then manually flash the ROM.
How to Install Android 15 Beta on Your Non-Pixel Device?
You can easily find out whether you can install Android 15 on your non-Pixel device or not by seeing your device in the list. If it’s listed, you’re good to go. Each OEM will differ in what build of Android 15 they will offer, but you can find a list of phones under the brand’s website in Google’s official list.
Step 1: First of all, visit the Android 15 Beta Devices page.
Step 2: If you are able to find your device’s brand, it means they are offering Android 15 Beta.
Step 3: Tap Get the Beta under the brand name.
Step 4: You will be redirected to the brand’s official page, from where you can download the Android 15 beta build.
Step 5: Carefully read all the guidelines presented by the OEM on how to install the beta and follow the instructions to install the beta build on your phone.
So this is how you can easily install Android 15 beta on Xiaomi, Realme, Honor, and more. If you don’t like the Android 15 beta as you might be facing any issues and want to rollback to a stable build, you need to download the rollback file and then follow the same process as an upgrade.
