Samsung has finally kicked off the Android 15-based One UI 7 update, after almost seven months of stock Android 15 release. The Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are the first batch of devices to receive the stable One UI 7 update. Other models will follow soon.
One UI 7 is one of the biggest One UI updates. This is one of the reasons why users are interested in the update and want to install it as soon as the update is available. One UI 7 introduces several AI features to eligible models, a visual overhaul, and many new features.
Updating your eligible Galaxy phone to the One UI 7 update is a straightforward process. However, new users might find it challenging. So, here is the guide to walk you through the steps to update your eligible Galaxy phone to One UI 7.
Step 1:
First, ensure that the One UI 7 rollout has begun for your models. You can search for your device on our website, and youโll find the news if the update has been released.
Step 2:
The next important step is to create a backup of your important data. You can manually copy files and folders, backup data online, or use the smart switch app on PC for backup.
Step 3:
Now, connect your device to the internet either via Wi-Fi or mobile data. Since One UI 7 is a big update, we suggest using Wi-Fi for downloading it.
Step 4:
To download the One UI 7 update, open your phoneโs Settings app and navigate to Software Update > Download and Install. Once you see the One UI 7 update, tap on the Download button.
If the update isnโt available, try refreshing the page multiple times. If itโs still not available, you might need to wait a few hours or even a few days.
Step 5:
Once the update is downloaded, youโll receive a prompt to install and restart the phone. Tap on โRestartโ and wait for the process to complete. I suggest capturing the entire process on a camera, as many devices display color lines after the update (not in One UI 7, but still take video for proof). This way, youโll have at least some evidence.
There are some other ways to update a Galaxy device to the latest supported version immediately, such as using Odin Tool, which involves flashing the latest firmware. However, we donโt recommend this process to new users as it is complex and requires some experience.
