Google has released Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 for eligible Pixel devices enrolled in the beta program. The update arrives two weeks after the third beta and, consistent with previous releases, addresses a fresh set of known issues. The latest beta squashes 7 bugs, but Google hasn’t confirmed any new features.
Unlike the third beta, Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 is not available for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, both of which were previously included in the program. Google has since taken to Reddit to confirm that both devices will be included in the next beta. If you own a Pixel 6a or a newer model, you can try out the latest beta on your device.
You can take part in the Android Beta Program to try out the Android 17 QPR1 beta 4 on your device. The update is also available for the recently launched Pixel 10a. Google pushes the latest software upgrade to compatible Pixel devices with the CP31.260522.006 build number.
For unawares, QPR is the Quarterly Platform Release, which refers to beta updates that arrive every quarter, packing bug fixes and new features. They frequently release alongside a Pixel Feature Drop, giving Pixel owners a chance to test major updates and share feedback with Google ahead of the stable public rollout.
Google has addressed 7 issues in the latest beta, which include the issue where the mouse pointer becomes invisible on external displays, the settings app crash issue, wrong screenshot sounds, back tap gestures failure, and some other issues. Take a look at the complete list of bugs fixed in the latest update.
