This month we have seen a lot of buzz around Android 15, with many smartphone manufacturer announcing Android 15 based custom UI for their devices. Vivo and Google has even started rolling out the stable Android 15 for their devices.

Some brands are currently beta testing Android 15. But what about OnePlus? Well there is an official news related to Android 15 based OxygenOS 15 for OnePlus devices. And it concerns the OxygenOS 15 announcement.

In a community forum post today, OnePlus revealed the announcement date for Oxyegen OS 15, along with a short teaser highlighting the motto for the next big update for OnePlus phones.

As per the community page, OnePlus will officially announce OxygenOS 15 exactly a week from today, i.e. on October 24, 2024. It will be announced at a live event, where OnePlus will reveal OxygenOS 15’s new features, roadmap and more.

OxygenOS 15 will be announced under the motto ‘Speed meets AI,’ which clearly signals that the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 will come packed with new AI features. It’s been a year since AI came on smartphones. And with this major Android update, the remaining eligible phones will also get the taste of AI.

OnePlus Will Announce OxygenOS 15 in a week

Except Google and Samsung, other brands have not fully incorporated many AI features. I guess they were saving them for a big update like Android 15. Android 15 is not impressive as Android 14, but with the new AI features baked into custom UI, it becomes a huge update.

You don’t have to wait until the announcement to know what AI features OxygenOS 15 will bring as Oppo has already announced ColorOS 15. OxygenOS 15 and ColorOS 15 are exactly the same, except for different names outside China.

So expect almost every new features on the upcoming OxygenOS 15 same as ColorOS 15. But we’ll have to wait for the official roadmap which should drop with the official announcement.
