It’s that time of year again when Android OEMs unveil their plans for the Android 15 rollout. Asus has joined the race and announced the Android 15 preview program for ROG Phone 8. The company made this announcement on Monday, just a day before the Android 15 rollout began for Pixel devices.
Asus announced the recruitment program on its community forum (first noticed by Android Authority), anyone can take part in the beta program before the recruitment is closed. The community manager has confirmed that the update is currently in its initial testing phase. We don’t recommend you install it on your primary smartphone, as you may encounter bugs and crashes.
Android 15 is going to be the first major software upgrade for ROG Phone 8. The phone was launched with Android 14 OS out-of-the-box and is set to receive an Android 15 update by the end of the year or early next year. If you want to try the new features on your ROG Phone 8, you can follow the steps mentioned below to join the program.
On your ROG Phone 8, head over to the System > System update in the Settings app, then tap on the gear icon at the top right corner. Now select Enroll in Android Preview Program, then click on Agree after reading Asus’s privacy policy, sign up for the members account, and then submit your application.
Asus will review your application, if your application gets approved, you will receive the Android 15 preview update on your ROG Phone 8 via special OTA.
Talking about the features and changes, Android 15 comes with several useful features including Private Space, Partial Screen Sharing, Satellite Connectivity Support, new features for the Pixel Camera app, an Earthquake alert system, Offline maps for Wear OS, App Archiving, and more.
