Samsung Galaxy M54 starts getting One UI 8 (Android 16) update

Last month, Samsung kicked off the One UI 8 stable rollout for Galaxy M-series phones. The update is already available for Galaxy M36 and Galaxy M16 5G. Now the company has extended the availability of Android 16-centric One UI 8 update to Galaxy M54. Needless to say, the update brings a slew of new features and enhancements.

Samsung Galaxy M54 was launched in 2023 with the Android 13 operating system. The phone received its first-ever OS upgrade, Android 14, in the same year. Early this year, the mid-ranger received the One UI 7-based Android 15 upgrade. Now the M54 is getting its third major software upgrade in the form of the One UI 8 update.

Samsung is pushing the Android 16 update to the Galaxy M54 with M546BXXU9EYI4 build number. As per the details shared by Mohammed Khatri, the update is currently rolling out in Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Thailand, and Vietnam. It will also be available in other regions in the coming days. Please ensure your phone has at least 4-5GB of free space for installation.

One UI 8-based Android 16 update comes with a slew of new features and changes. The list of features includes the new Adaptive lock screen clock, improved split-screen view, better display support in Samsung DeX, easier file sharing with Quick Share, Dynamic Lock screen, hide apps in secure folder, updated stock apps, improved animations, and more.

If you own the Galaxy M54, you may have already received the One UI 8 update on your device. In case you missed the OTA notification, you can check for the update, go to Settings > Software Update or you can wait for a few days for a broader rollout. Once the update is available on your phone, you can download and install it.

Please charge your phone to at least 50% before updating to the One UI 8-based Android 16 update. Also, don’t forget to back up your data just in case.
