Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 now receiving One UI 8 update

Summarize This Article:

Samsung is accelerating its One UI 8 rollout. The company has recently released the new software upgrade for many phones, including the Galaxy S22, Galaxy A15 5G, Galaxy M16 5G, Galaxy A34, and many other phones. Now the company has released the stable Android 16-centric One UI 8 update for their 2022 foldables – the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

At the time of writing, the update is currently rolling out in Turkey; the update will also be available in other regions in a matter of time. Samsung is seeding the new software upgrade to the book-style foldable with F936BXXUAIYIF build number, whereas the clamshell Flip 4 is receiving the One UI 8 update with F721BXXUAIYIF firmware version.

As it is a major upgrade, it weighs around 3.5GB in download size, so please ensure you have enough space on your device. Additionally, please charge your device to at least 50% before installing the update.

One UI 8-based Android 16 update comes with a slew of new features and changes. The list of features includes the new Adaptive lock screen clock, improved split-screen view, better display support in Samsung DeX, easier file sharing with Quick Share, Dynamic Lock screen, hide apps in secure folder, updated stock apps, improved animations, and more.

Whether you own the Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Galaxy Z Flip 4, you can now upgrade your foldable to the One UI 8 stable update. As I mentioned earlier, the update is currently in its initial rollout phase and available to select users. You can wait for a few hours for a broader rollout.

To check for the update, go to Settings > Software Update. Once the update is available on your phone, you can download and install it. Also, don’t forget to back up your data just in case.
