Android 16-based One UI 8 update now available for Galaxy A26 and M16 5G

Samsung is extending the availability of its latest Android 16-based One UI 8.0 skin to affordable and mid-range devices. Today, the company has started rolling out the stable One UI 8 update for Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy A26 5G. Needless to say, the update bags a bunch of new features, enhancements, and fixes. Samsung plants the new software upgrade on the M-series affordable device with M166SKSU3BYI8 firmware version, whereas the Galaxy A26 5G is receiving its first major software upgrade with A266BXXU4BYI2 build number. The update on the A-series mid-ranger weighs 2.4GB in download size. As per the details shared by One UI Enthusiast Mohammed Khatri, the update is in its early rollout phase.

For the time being, the stable One UI 8 update for Galaxy A26 is rolling out in Europe, whereas the update for M16 5G is currently available to users in South Korea. A broader rollout should commence in the coming days. The update will bump up the monthly security patch version to September 2025.

One UI 8-based Android 16 update comes with a slew of new features and changes. The list of features includes the new Adaptive lock screen clock, improved split-screen view, better display support in Samsung DeX, easier file sharing with Quick Share, Dynamic Lock screen, hide apps in secure folder, updated stock apps, improved animations, and more.

Whether you own the Galaxy A26 5G or the Galaxy M16 5G, you can upgrade your device to One UI 8 stable update. To check for the update, go to Settings > Software Update. Once the update is available on your phone, you can download and install it.

Please charge your phone to at least 50% before updating to the One UI 8-based Android 16 update. Also, don’t forget to back up your data just in case.
