Samsung has started rolling out the stable Android 16-based One UI 8 update for Galaxy A15 5G in India. The update comes out after three days of Korean release. As per the details shared by Samsung enthusiast, Mohammed Khatri, Samsung is seeding the new software upgrade to the Galaxy A15 5G with A156EDXU6DYIA firmware version. The device originally launched with Android 14 and received the One UI 7 update in February this year. Now the device is set to receive its second major OS upgrade. For the time being, the update is in its initial rollout phase and will be available to everyone in a matter of time.

As it is a major software upgrade, it requires a huge chunk of data for installation. The One UI 8 update on the Galaxy A15 5G weighs approx. 2.2GB of download size. Please ensure your phone has at least 4-5GB of free space for installation.

One UI 8-based Android 16 update comes with a slew of new features and changes. The list of features includes the new Adaptive lock screen clock, improved split-screen view, better display support in Samsung DeX, easier file sharing with Quick Share, Dynamic Lock screen, hide apps in secure folder, updated stock apps, improved animations, and more.

If you own the Galaxy A15 5G and reside in India, you may have already received the One UI 8 update on your device. In case you missed the OTA notification, you can check for the update, go to Settings > Software Update or you can wait for a few days for a broader rollout. Once the update is available on your phone, you can download and install it.
