Samsung Galaxy A26 Gets One UI 8.5 Update

Last week, Samsung released the anticipated One UI 8.5 update for Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56. Today, the company has started rolling out the much-awaited software upgrade for the more affordable Galaxy A26. At the time of writing, the update is in its initial rollout phase and is currently available to users in Guatemala; a broader rollout should commence in a matter of time.

Samsung Enthusiast Mohammed Khatri has shared the rollout information, and as per the details, the update comes in with A266MUBU9CZEA firmware version. As it is a major release, the update is expected to weigh around 2-3GB in download size. The update will bump up the monthly security patch version to May 2026.

One UI 8.5 is a big upgrade for Galaxy devices; Samsung has pushed some of the best AI features from the Galaxy S26 series to older models. A selection of these features is also anticipated to be available for older devices.
