Poco M2 Pro starts getting MIUI 12.5 update in India

The Poco M2 Pro was announced back in July 2020 with Android 10-based MIUI 12 OS. Two months ago, Xiaomi’s spin-off Poco released the first major OS upgrade for Poco M2 Pro in the form of the Android 11 update which is based on the MIUI 12. Today, the company has kicked-off its newest MIUI 12.5 update for Poco M2 Pro. The latest update goes official with a bunch of new features and enhancements. Here’s everything you need to know about the Poco M2 Pro MIUI 12.5 update.

The Indian variant of Poco M2 Pro receives the new update with 12.5.0.7.RJPINXM version number and weighs around 800MB of download size. It weighs less than the last update, you can quickly download this build through WiFi. As for now, the update is rolling out in India for the users opted pilot testing program, we can expect wider rollout in the coming days. If everything goes fine with this build, then we can expect same build for everyone in stable channel.

Talking about the features and changes, then the MIUI 12.5 update comes with improved gesture response, 20x faster rendering, along with the optimizations for better system performance. It also bring changes to the Notes app, like new tools for doodling and sketching, dynamic layouts, gesture shortcuts, and more. Although, the changelog doesn’t feature much this time, but still, you can access the afore-listed MIUI 12.5 features on your Poco M2 Pro. Here’s the complete changelog.

If you’re using the Poco M2 Pro, then you can now upgrade it to the newer MIUI 12.5 update. In case the update is not available on your unit, then you can sideload the update using recovery ROM which is available to us. Here’s the download link of the recovery ROM.

Before upgrading your smartphone, must take a backup of all data and charge your device to at least 50%.
