Xiaomi released MIUI 12 based Android 11 update for Poco M2 Pro in India

After pushing the MIUI 12.5 based Android 11 update to the vanilla Poco M2. It’s a time for the Pro model, aka, the Poco M2 Pro. Yes, Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 11 update for Poco M2 Pro. But weirdly, this build is based on MIUI 12, instead of the anticipated MIUI 12.5. We can expect it will be available in the coming days. The new OTA will bump up the software version to 12.0.1.0.RJPINXM on your Poco M2 Pro smartphone. The device was announced last year with MIUI 12 based Android 10 OS. Now it is getting its first major OS upgrade, in the form of Android 11. As it is a major release, it weighs around 2.3GB in size, so, connect your smartphone to a stable Wi-Fi network for faster downloading.

As for now, the update is available to users who opted pilot testing program. It’s a stable beta patch, which means the same build will be pushed to everyone after testing. The new patch brings the August 2021 monthly security patch alongside the chat bubbles, dark mode scheduling, enhanced privacy controls, and other basic functionalities of Android 11.

This time, the official changelog doesnโ€™t carry many details, but you can access the above-mentioned features after downloading the update. Here’s the small changelog that comes with this update.

Poco M2 Pro finally received the much-awaited Android 11 update. However, it is limited to the pilot testers, but, the wider rollout should follow in the coming days. The update is already available to many users, you can move to the System Updates from Settings app to check the new updates.
