One UI 8 Beta is Coming Soon – Here’s When

With Android 16, Google plans to release major Android OS upgrades earlier than usual, in May or June instead of September. This means other brands will likely adjust their release schedule to match Google’s new timeline.

Samsung has also started internal testing of Android 16-based One UI 8 beta on the Galaxy S25 series. Additionally, the One UI 8 public beta is also expected to be released sooner than expected.

The internal beta build of the Galaxy S25 was recently leaked, giving access to many Galaxy S25 users. Based on the progress, Samsung is undoubtedly planning to release the One UI 8 beta to the public soon. They are also aiming for a stable release in July or August.

According to Sammobile, the public beta of One UI 8 is expected to be released in the third week of May. Tarunvats, a source well-known for sharing accurate information about Samsung and One UI, has also confirmed that the One UI 8 beta is around the corner. This prediction seems valid, as Samsung will have to test the One UI 8 update among the public on at least a few models before releasing it to the stable channel.

As usual, the beta will initially be available to Galaxy S25 users in select regions. It may be released for other devices later.

One UI 8 is said to bring various improvements over One UI 7. While it won’t be as big as One UI 7, it will enhance what was introduced in One UI 7. This is because the One UI 7 rollout is not complete, and there will only be a short gap between the release of One UI 7 and One UI 8. So, within the limited time, we can only expect improvements paired with a few new features.

Earlier, Samsung used to release one more significant update between two major One UI releases, such as One UI 6.1. However, this time, Samsung might skip the One UI 7.1 and directly release the One UI 8 update.

As per the early feedback from several users, the animation on One UI 8 looks more refined, improved battery charging animations, and more. Apart from its exclusive features, the One UI 8 will also include various stock Android 16 features.

As usual, Samsung will not disclose anything until the One UI 8 beta announcement. But thanks to leaks, we’ll continue to receive information about One UI 8 and keep you updated.
