Samsung hasn’t been able to deliver the One UI 7 update to most of the eligible devices yet. However, details of Samsungโs upcoming One UI skin, One UI 8, have started circulating. A new One UI 8 based app has been leaked, and by the looks of it, the app has brought in a few changes.
The app in question is the new Samsung Weather app. As X user @GerwinvGiessen leaked in a post, the new Samsung Weather app, which will be coming with One UI 8, is now more colorful and pleasing to look at, along with a set of new animations.

You don’t have to wait for One UI 8 to try the new Weather app, you can manually install it on your Galaxy device.
Download One UI 8 Weather App for Any Galaxy Device
I was able to get the One UI 8 weather app working on my Galaxy S24 Ultra that is running on the last One UI 7 beta update. You can also try installing the app on devices that are running stable versions of One UI 7 as well as One UI 6.1.
Downloading the One UI 8 weather app is simple and easy. Thanks to @GerwinvGiessen and @Feruzbek_101, who made it simple and easy to download the app to your Galaxy device. You can get drive link for the new Weather app from here.
Once you have downloaded the One UI 8 weather app to your Galaxy device, install it. It will install as an update to the existing weather app. Launching the weather app from your home screen will not give you the new UI. For this to work, you will have to do the following.
- Tap and hold on the home screen to bring up the home screen options.
- Tap on the Widgets icon.
- Now, in the search bar, type in weather.
- Tap on the Weather option that has a small icon inside the weather app icon.
- Now choose the weather widget of your choice and add it to your home screen.
- Finally, tap on the widget, and you should now see the new One UI 8 weather app right away.
Do note that you can use your existing weather app at the same time as the new One UI 8 weather app.
One UI 8 vs One UI 7 App
Instead of the plain single color background that is present on the One UI 7 weather app, the new One UI 8 weather app has a nice background that matches with the weather as well as the little character that walks up now has new animations.

The rest of the cars that are present in the weather app are the same. Even the fonts and all the details that you would see on the current weather app are the same as those of the One UI 8 weather app.

However, on the One UI 8 weather app, it becomes a little difficult to see the name of the city because of the animated clouds that move around. But once the clouds move, it’s very readable. This animated weather effect is pretty good and adds a nice touch to the weather app.
