Samsung users have been forced to wait for the Android 15 update, which has been available for about half a year now on Pixel devices. While the wait for Android 15-based One UI 7 continues, a new development has emerged. The Galaxy S25 running on One UI 8 has been spotted on Geekbench listing.
Upon learning about this, Samsung users initially suspect it might be fake since the current build hasnโt been released yet. However, if you also have the same doubt, the listing is accurate, and the source has also confirmed this.
Tarun Vats has spotted Geekbench scores for the Galaxy S25 running on Android 16-based One UI 8. According to the report, the device achieved a single-core score of 3135 and a multi-core score of 9938. These scores are slightly higher than the Galaxy S25 with One UI 7. However, itโs worth noting that these scores vary each time the device is tested, even if the margin is not big.
This proves that Samsung has already started testing the One UI 8, and we expect them to release the update early this year. However, keep in mind that One UI 8 might not be as big as One UI 7, which introduced several new features and UI changes.
To regain usersโ trust, Samsung must release Android 16-based One UI 8, soon after Pixel devices receive the update. They shouldnโt make us wait for more than two months this time.
If you own a Samsung phone and are curious about the release date of the latest Android 15-based One UI 7, Samsung is scheduled to release the One UI 7 release for older Galaxy devices from April.
The update will initially be released for the Galaxy S24 series, followed by other flagship devices, mid-range phones, and budget phones. It may take another two months before every eligible device receives the update.
