Google has released Android 17 QPR1 Beta 6, just one week after the rollout of Beta 5. Android 17 QPR1 is expected to be rolled out as Google’s September Pixel feature drop. However, Google is dropping beta updates too frequently, which indicates that Google may have a different plan. With Beta 6, the update has progressed through six beta releases and officially reached Platform Stability.
The latest Android 17 QPR1 Beta 6 is available for Pixel 6 and newer devices and carries build number CP31.260618.005. The update is still based on the June Android Security Patch same as beta 5. Since it’s a beta update, it is only available to users enrolled in the Android beta program.
Google has confirmed that Android 17 QPR1 has now reached Platform Stability, meaning the APIs and app-facing behaviors are finalized. As expected from a late-stage beta release, Beta 6 does not introduce any new user-facing features. Instead, the update focuses on stability, bug fixes, and improvements. You can check out the official changelog for Android 17 QPR1 Beta 6 below:

- Pressing the device volume buttons within the Clock app failed to trigger the expected user interface actions.
