One UI 8.5 is out for Galaxy A55, Tab S9 series, and Two More

After releasing the One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy A35, Samsung wasted no time and started rolling it out to the sibling Galaxy A55. Not only this, but the South Korean tech giant has extended the availability of its newest skin to the Tab S9 series, Tab A11+, and XCover 7 Pro. Needless to say, the update is bundled with a slew of new features and changes.

As per the details shared by Mohammed Khatri, the update for all four Galaxy devices is seeding in mainland South Korea. The global rollout should commence later this week. The update is rolling out to the Galaxy A55, Galaxy Tab S9 series, Galaxy Tab A11+, and Galaxy XCover 7 Pro with following software versions:

  • Galaxy A55: A556SKSU7DZE5
  • Galaxy Tab S9 Series: X916NKOU6EZE3
  • Galaxy Tab A11+: X236NKOU4BZE8
  • Galaxy XCover 7 Pro: G766NKSU7CZE7

As it is a major release, the update weighs a whopping 3.8GB of download size on the Galaxy Tab S9 series. The update will bump up the monthly security patch version to May 2026.

Moving to the features, One UI 8.5 is a big upgrade for Galaxy devices. Samsung has pushed some of the best AI features from the Galaxy S26 series to older models. A selection of these features is also anticipated to be available for older devices. If you’re wondering what’s new, it brings a redesigned interface, new and improved Galaxy AI, improved Camera, more customization options, and more.

If you reside in the Republic of Korea and own the Galaxy A55, Galaxy Tab S9 series, Galaxy Tab A11+, or Galaxy XCover 7 Pro, you can check for the One UI 8.5 update by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Before installing the new update, always back up important data and ensure to install the update in a cool temperature.

If the One UI 8.5 update hasn’t arrived on your device, you’ll need to wait for its OTA update, as it is rolling out in batches.
