Nokia rolls out second Android 12 developer preview for Nokia X20

Just a few days ago, Nokia released the first Android 12 developer preview build for the Nokia X20. The update brings the first look of Android 12 on the Nokia X20, alongside the bunch of useful features. Usually, the first preview builds are not suitable for daily use, and the case is same on the X20 as well. Now the company has released the second developer preview build with bugs fixes and improvements. Here you can check everything about Nokia X20 Android 12 second developer preview update.

Nokia shared information about the second developer preview build on its community forum. The second developer build knocks up with V2.200_B01 software version, if you’re already running on the developer preview, then you’ll receive second preview via OTA. The second preview is more stable than the preview build. Nokia also shares a list of known issues in the V2.200_B01.

Nokia X20 Android 12 second developer preview – Known issues

  • Display – White balance and Audio OZO function not supported yet
  • Performance issue โ€“ Camera recording may show some slow response in movie mode
  • System UI – Battery percentage may intermittently not be displayed or the battery icon may not show full
  • ‘Capture more’ mode is not yet supported
  • Customised ringtone name may be displayed incorrectly
  • Recent task not working after switching to 3-button navigation

Talking about the features, then the Nokia X20 users can still use the features such as updated Android 12 widgets, better privacy management, new quick settings, improved auto rotate, scrolling screenshots, universal splash screen, and other Android 12 essential features.

If you’re using the Nokia X20 and want to update your phone to the Android 12 developer preview, then you need to open My device app on your smartphone and tap on support banner listed at the bottom. Now find Android developer preview, the app will check IMEI of your smartphone, give it a permission if prompted and accept terms and conditions to opt the Android 12 developer preview program on Nokia X20.

Once all done, you’ll receive the Android 12 preview build via special OTA, before upgrading your smartphone, I suggest you to take a backup of important data. Also, the developer preview builds are not as stable as the beta builds, we’re not recommend you installing it on your primary smartphone.

Now you can enjoy the new Android 12 on your Nokia X20. In case later you want to downgrade to Android 11 for some reason, you can do that too. You can use the My Phone app to request rollback. Also, for more information check out the source page.
