Two weeks back, Google officially knocked-out the anticipated Android 12 update for the Pixel phones. Before moving to the wallpapers section, here’s a quick overview at the new Android OS. Google renovated its smartphone OS by adopting the new Material You color scheme. One of the subtle changes are seen on the home screen, Android 12 will automatically extract the colors from the wallpaper and apply these colors to the app icons and widgets, users can also change the colors from Wallpapers & Design section. The default apps on Android 12 also adopts the Material You theming, matches the color scheme of your system.
Google revamped the notification panel aka quick settings on Android 12. There’s a new layout for the quick settings buttons, material you color scheme, improved animations, and more. The Android 12 brings One-Handed mode, users can activate this feature by using swipe down gesture from bottom of the screen. The Settings app also receive a visual overhaul, the Page titles are bigger in comparison to the older version, so users can use their phone with one hand. Apart from that, the OS has scrolling screenshot, auto-rotate screen improvements, Google TV new remote, new Game Mode, and more.
One of the biggest highlights of Android 12 is the new privacy features. Google brings a new Privacy Dashboard with Android 12, which allows users to manage or change app permissions. Not only this, but users can also change the camera and microphone permissions directly from the Quick Settings. Talking about the availability, as I said earlier, the OS is available for the Pixel phones (3 and up), and coming to other eligible devices as per the OEMs schedule.
