Motorola has already kick-started the beta program registrations for the upcoming Android 17 update for a big list of phones; however, there are still some phones pending to receive the Android 16 update. The Moto Edge 2024 is one of the few devices, and fortunately, beta testers have now started getting the beta update, and it performs decently well.
Reddit user, Kindly-Beginning-886, allegedly received the beta update on its Edge 2024. The user didn’t share many details, including software version, changelog, and update size. Instead, he shared his experience with the Android 16 update. He says that the beta breaks the functionality of the side button, which also acts like an action button. Motorola responded and expected to address the issue in the stable release.

Apart from that, the update works fine with no hiccups or lags. Talking about other features and changes, we can expect support for Android 16 features like Live updates, Desktop Window, Group notifications, New Emojis, Embedded Photo Picker, APV codec support, Predictive Back upgrades, HDR screenshots, Advanced Protection Mode, and more.
If you own the Moto Edge 2024, you can join the beta to get a faster update or wait for the stable release. To update the device, simply navigate to Settings > System > Advanced > System updates and tap “Check for updates”. Please take a backup before updating your phone and charge it to at least 50%.
